2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
1/3 cup white corn syrup
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup candied cherry quarters
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients in saucepan; Bring to a boil slowly.

Stirring over medium heat to 230 F on candy thermometer or a little bit of mixture dropped in cold water forms a soft ball.

Remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes. Do not stir.

Add flavoring and beat until mixture loses it's gloss (about 8 minutes).

Stir in cherries and walnuts, mix and quickly pour into greased shallow pan.

Cool; cut into squares.

Makes about 1 + 1/2 pounds.
