Cinnamon Bread Recipe

3 TBS sugar
1 TBS cinnamon
2 cups flour
tsp salt
tsp baking soda
tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
cup shortening
1 cup white sugar

Preheat oven to 350

Mix sugar & cinnamon together in small bowl. Set aside.

In sifter place the flour, salt, baking soda & baking powder.

In large bowl cream together the shortening & sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time, mixing well after each egg. Sift in dry ingredients alternating with milk. Blend well.

In greased bread pan, pour 1/2 of batter. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Add remaining batter. Top with cinnamon mix. Swirl with a knife.

Bake 1 hour. Let cool on rack.
