cup butter or margarine, at room temperature
cup peanut butter
cup sugar
cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
tsp. baking soda
tsp. salt

1 6-oz. package chocolate chips (or 8-oz. Bakers semi-sweet chocolate or Bakers German sweet chocolate, cut into large -inch chunks)
cup chopped peanuts

Beat butter, sugars, peanut butter, vanilla and egg until light and fluffy. (Cream - then add peanut butter). Mix flour with baking soda and salt, blend into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Chill 1 hour. Drop 2 inches apart by heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes before removing from sheets.

Makes 2 dozen 3-inch cookies.
