3/4 cup sugar
1 t salt
3/4 cup butter
2 eggs separated
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 t almond extract
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups nuts
Jelly or preserves

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl combine sugar, salt, butter, egg yolks vanilla and almond extract. at medium speed for one minute. Add flour at low speed until well mixed. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Dip dough balls into the two reserved egg whites that have been slightly beaten. Once dipped in egg whites, dip balls into chopped nuts. Place on greased cookie sheet, two inches apart. Make a deep depression in center of each cookie with finger tip. Bake at 350º 10-12 minutes until firm but not brown. Remove from cookie sheet. While warm fill centers with small amount of jelly or preserves.
