2 cups sugar
2 sticks (1 cup) butter
1 cup water
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
4 tbsps. Cocoa
˝ cup buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon (opt.)

Chocolate Icing:
˝ cup butter
6 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 box confectioners’ sugar
1 cup nuts (opt.)




Directions:
Directions:
Sift sugar and flour together in a large bowl. In a pot, mix butter, cocoa and water. Heat and pour into the first mixture. Add: buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, vanilla and cinnamon. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees on a greased shallow pan.

Chocolate Icing:
Five minutes before the cake is done, melt together and bring to a boil the butter, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat and stir in box of sugar, vanilla and nuts. Ice cake while still hot.
