6 eggs, separated
1/2 t salt
1 t vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Separate eggs. Combine egg yolks, salt and vanilla. Beat until very light. Beat 1/2 cup sugar in gradually. Continue beating until very light and fluffy (about 5 minutes at medium speed). Stir in flour and the 1 cup of finely chopped pecans. Beet egg white until they form soft peaks. Heat mixture while adding remaining 1/4 cup sugar gradually and continue heating until glossy. Fold into egg yolk mixture. Divide batter equally between three greased and floured 8 or 9 inch layer pans. Bake in 300 oven until done, about 20-30 minutes.
