2 cups sugar
3/4 cup lard
3/4 cup sour milk
2 eggs
2 1/2 cup flour
1 t vanilla

1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup hot water
2 t soda
Directions:
Directions:
Mix the cocoa, hot water and soda together and let stand about five minutes. While waiting cream the sugar and lard together, add eggs and vanilla and alternate buttermilk and flour, then add the cocoa mixture till just incorporated. The original recipe is missing what temp and how long, so am guessing 350º for 25-35 minutes (depends on pan and oven), will need to keep an eye on it!
