1 lb fresh mushrooms
2 T chopped onion
2 T butter
¼ c soft bread cubes
¼ c finely chopped almonds
½ t salt
2 t lemon juice
¼ t Worchestershire sauce
½ c light cream or milk
½ cup (2 oz) shredded Cheddar or American cheese

Directions:
Directions:
remove stems from mushrooms and set aside caps; chop stems. In small skillet, sauté onions, chopped stems in butter until tender. Add bread cubes and almonds; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until lightly brown.
Add salt, lemon juice and Worchestershire sauce. Fill mushroom caps with bread stuffing. Place in 9-inch square or shallow baking dish. Pour cream around mushrooms. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes. Top with cheese. Continue baking 8 to 10 minutes until cheese melts.

To make ahead, prepare, cover and refrigerate. Bake as directed, toping with cheese during last 10 minutes of baking.
