3/4 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
3 cups oats
Optional: raisins,coconut or chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Cream shortening, sugar, egg, water and vanilla.
Sift together flour, salt and soda, then add to the creamed mixture.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake 12-15 minutes.
