"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
In a blender mix these ingredients:

3 heaping Tablespoons of "Caffe D’vita mocha/cauccino mix". Can be found at Costco or any large supermarket.
Sprinkle in (!/4 teaspoon) cinnamon also 1/2 teaspoon nut-meg if desired
2 Tablespoon of chocolate syrup.
2 Tablespoon of caramel syrup.
1 1/2 cup of ice cubes.
1 cup of milk.
Turn on blender to crush ice to a fine slush.
Add an additional 1 1/2 cup of ice cubes and continue to blend until this ice is also turned to a fine slush.
Add more milk to get the Mocha to blend nicely.
Add one ripe banana broken into small pieces and add to the mix and blend until smooth. Grandma uses a frozen peeled banana which is a better idea.
May be necessary now to add more milk to get the blender to run smoothly and not become airlocked and not blend the ingredients. You have to play this by ear.
If too thin add more ice or if to thick add more milk.

Pour into a large 16 ounce glass and garnish with whipped cream and more chocolate and caramel syrup drizzled down the insides of your glass. The whipped cream is last and a cherry can be added to add eye candy.

Grandma makes a full blender full of this stuff which is about 57 ounces.

Use your imagination and add more or use less and you’ll come up with a really tasty treat!

Besure to crush the ice in the blender using the “Crush Ice” mode. And besure to thoroughly blend all ingredients so there won’t be any large unblended chunks. Should have the consistency of a thick milkshake.

Enjoy!

Personal Notes:
Barb started making this beverage when Donnie was recuperating from stomach surgery and it soon became a family favorite and just as good as anything Starbucks makes!

Barb's grandson Justyn asked for this recipe as he was sailing down from Alaska on the USS Teddy Roosevelt CVN 71 to San Diego that is why the above recipe is in an Email format in answer to his request.
