¾ c. sugar
1 T. flour
⅛ tsp. salt
½ tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sliced apples

TOPPING:
½ c. oatmeal
½ c. brown sugar
½ c. flour
¼ c. butter
⅛ tsp. soda
⅛ tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Sift sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon together and combine with sliced apples. Mix together well and place in the bottom of a greased pan. 9x9 or 7x11. To make topping, combine dry ingredients and rub in butter to make crumbs. Put crumbs on top of apple mixture. Bake at 375 degs. for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve hot or cold with milk or ice cream. If you double the recipe it fits in a 9x13.
(This was often our supper on a Saturday evening.) When I was little I hated cooked apples! The dough tasted much better then the cooked apples. BUT I had to eat it regardless! Now, I LOVE this dessert!!:) Taste buds change as you mature.
