16oz/480g wholemeal flour
8oz/250g plain white flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 pint of buttermilk
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl together.
Mix together the buttermilk and the egg.
Then make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and start adding the liquid.
Avoid making the mixture too sticky. After the liquid has been added put the mixture on a floured service and make into whatever shape you like then put it in the oven for 30-40 minutes at gas mark 6.
You will know it’s done when you take it out and knock it on the bottom and it sounds hollow.
