Ingredients:

Cake:
c Wesson oil
1 c brown sugar
1 c white sugar
2 whole eggs
1 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
nutmeg
1 c uncooked oatmeal
1 c boiling water

Caramel Sauce:
1 c brown sugar
stick butter
c half and half
1 tbsp vanilla
Pinch of salt

Cake:
Pour hot water over the oatmeal and set aside to cool. Mix all dry ingredients. Add eggs, oil and oatmeal. Pour into a 11x13 pan. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350.

Caramel Sauce:
Mix all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook while whisking gently 5-7 minutes until thickened. Turn off heat and serve warm or refrigerate. I make this ahead and refrigerate. Warm when ready to serve over cake.
