1 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c plus 1 tsp white sugar
2 tsp baking powder
12 tsp salt
1/4 c milk (or half and half)
1/2 c plus 2 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 c fresh basil, chopped
12 oz fresh peaches (about 2 large), pitted and sliced 1/4 to 1/2 inch
1 c fresh blackberries
1 tsp cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF. Coat an 8x8 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
2. Stir together flour, brown sugar, 1/2 c white sugar,
baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Stir in milk, 12 c melted butter, and the vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Stir in chopped basil.
3. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Arrange peaches and blackberries on top, then drizzle with remaining 2 tbsp melted butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and remaining tsp white sugar.
4. Bake until golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool 30 minutes. If desired, garnish with basil leaves and whipped cream.
