Bottom layer:
½ c butter or margarine
1 c sugar
½ t NaCl
4 eggs
1 c all-purpose flour
16 oz can chocolate syrup
1 t vanilla
Middle layer:
½ c butter
2 c confectioners' sugar
2 T green creme de menthe
Top layer:
1 cup chocolate chips
6 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Bottom layer: Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs slowly, beating well. Add vanilla. Mix in flour and chocolate syrup. Pour into greased and floured 13x9x2 pan. Bake at 350º for 25-28 min. Cool completely.
Middle layer: Cream butter and add confectioners' sugar and creme de menthe. (Mom also added some oil of peppermint). Spread over cooled brownies. Chill 1 hr.
Top layer: Melt chocolate chips and butter in top of double boiler. Spread over brownies. Cool completely. Slice with very sharp knife.
