1 cup. shortening
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup nuts
3 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar and cream, add well beaten eggs. Add nuts. Add vanilla. Sift flour and measure. Sift flour, salt & soda together. Mix into the cream mixture with hands. Form into rolls. 2 inch in diameter. Roll in wax paper and chill until firm. Slice 1/8 inch thick. Bake in quick moderate oven. 8 to 10 minutes.
