1/4 lb. butter (No Substitutions)
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup self rising flour, sifted
1 lb. can chocolate syrup
1/2 tspn. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly mixed.
Alternate syrup and flour into mixture, and blend til smooth.
Add vanilla.
Pour into a greased and floured angel food pan.

Bake at 350º for 45 Minutes OR: 13" x 9" pan for about 35 minutes.
OR: 2 round 9" cake pans.

Use butter frosting, or whip and sweeten 1 pint heavy cream and frost middle, top and sides with whipped cream.
Do not use 11"x7" pan (too small and will run over)
