1 Cup Soft-as-Silk Cake Flour
1 tsp Sugar
1 Cups Egg Whites
1⅓ tsp Cream of Tartar
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Almond Extract
Cup Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Sift the flour with the sugar two times and set aside. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar, salt and almond extract until stiff enough to form soft peaks. Add remaining cup sugar, 2 Tbsps at a time, continue to beat egg whites to hold stiff peaks. Sift about of the flour mixture over the whites; fold in with large mixing spoon. Repeat, folding in remaking flour mixture in fourths. Bake in floured tube pan for 45 minutes. Invert cake in pan and cool.

Mom made angel food cake for all of our birthdays when we were little. She would either frost it with an orange zest glaze or serve it with strawberries mixed with sugar that have set for a bit and whip cream. Mom made the best homemade Whip cream!
