1½ cups sugar
1½ cups corn syrup
½ cup butter
2 cups light cream
½ tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. light rum

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, syrup, butter and 1 cup cream. Bring to boiling point and cook to firm ball stage or 244ºF. Add the remaining cream and lower the heat. Cook for 15 minutes more. Cool for a few minutes, then add the vanilla and rum. Store leftover sauce in covered container in refrigerator. Makes 4 cups.
