2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
6 T Butter, chilled
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut butter in until coarse.

In a small bowl, stir together buttermilk egg and vanilla. Add this to the flour mixture.

Pat dough into an 8 inch diameter circle on a baking sheet. Cut into 8 wedges.

Bake for 18-20 minutes.

Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before serving.
