Directions: |
Directions:Add vinegar to milk and let it sit while creaming softened butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add all remaining ingredients. Dough will be slightly sticky. Drop cookies onto cookie sheet. Flatten dough with floured fingers, then sprinkle the top of each cookie with sugar and lightly tap in with fingers. Bake in a 350° oven for about 8 minutes. Edges of cookie should be just slightly golden. If the cookies seem to melt and the edges spread out and are crispy, add more flour to the remaining dough. |

Notes: The attached photo is from Mom's recipe box. I have 3 copies of this recipe - one in Mom's handwriting, one in mine and one in my daughter Jessy's! It is a family favorite. I loved to bake these cookies when I was a kid. I made them one summer when Jeff and Joel were at our house. Joel talked me into making a double batch. A single batch is big - I was baking for hours!
