2 cups almonds or pecans (optional)
10 cups popped corn
1⅓ cups brown sugar
1 cup margarine
½ cup corn syrup
½ tsp. cream of tartar
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Toast nuts slightly in 300ºF oven. Cool and mix with popped corn. Combine sugar, margarine, syrup and cream of tartar in heavy saucepan. Cook until mixture forms a ball, about 5-5½ minutes. Remove from heat, stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour over popcorn. Mix together and spread on baking sheet. Refrigerate and break apart.
