1 cup sifted flour
1½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1½ teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons shortening or butter
½ cup milk

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening or butter. Add milk.

Drop by spoon onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 450ºF for 12-15 minutes.
