1½ tsps. plus 1 cup butter (no substitutes)
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup sugar
3 tbsps. water
2 cups almonds, toasted and coarsely chopped
Directions:
Directions:
Butter a large baking sheet with 1½ tsps. butter; set aside. In a bowl combine semi sweet and milk chocolate chips; set aside. In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, water and remaining butter. Cook and stir over medium heat until a candy thermometer reaches 290ºF (soft crack stage). Remove from the heat; stir in 1 cup almonds and immediately pour onto prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; spread with knife when melted. Top with remaining almonds; cool. Break into 2" pieces. Makes about 2 lbs.
