1 CUP MARGARINE
1/4 CUP SUGAR
1 TEASPOON ALMOND EXTRACT
2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
1 EGG WHITE
1 TABLESPOON WATER
1/4 CUP CHOPPED ALMONDS
1 TABLESPOON SUGAR

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES

BEAT MARGARINE SUGAR & ALMOND EXTRACT. WORK IN FLOUR, 1/2 AT A TIME. GATHER DOUGH INTO A BALL. CUT INTO 16 EQUAL PIECES. ROLL EACH PIECE PENCIL THIN, ABOUT 1/2 INCH IN DIAMETER. CUT INTO 2 INCH LENGTHS.

BEAT EGG WHITE WITH WATER. BRUSH TOPS. COMBINE ALMONDS WITH ONE TABLESPOON OF SUGAR. DIP EACH COOKIE IN MIXTURE. PLACE ON UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET, 2 INCHES APART. BAKE FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES.
