6 tbs margarine or butter
1 c sugar
2 eggs, separeted
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c pastry flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 c nutmeats, chopped
2 sq bitter chocolate, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add unbeaten egg yolks one at a time. Beat mixture well after each addition. Add vanilla. Combine and sift dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Add nuts and stiffly beaten egg whites. Spread mixture in a well greased shallow cake pan. Bake in slow oven (300º) until done - approximately 25 min. Cool, cut into inch squares, rolls in powdered sugar.
