1/2 c Crisco or butter
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 c sugar
1 oz chocolate, melted
2 c sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 c evaporated milk


Frosting:
1 3 oz pkg cream cheese
4 tbs top milk (cream)
2 c sifted confectionery sugar
1 oz chocolate, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Combine Crisco, salt, and vanilla. Add sugar gradually. Cream until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Add melted chocolate. Add flour and baking powder alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Bake in layer tins 25 to 30 min in moderate oven (350º)


Frosting:
Soften cream cheese with milk. Add salt. Add sugar gradually, beating well after each addition. Add chocolate and beat until smooth. Add vanilla.
