2 c brown sugar
1 c granulated sugar
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
3/4 c milk
3 tbs Jelke's Good Luck margarine
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, cream of tartar, milk and salt in saucepan.
Cook over low flame.
Stir constantly until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture boils.
Continue cooking without stirring until the soft ball stage is reached (238º)
Remove from the stove, drop margarine onto the candy mixture.
Let it melt and remain in a layer on top of the penuchi.
Allow candy to cool to body temperature.
Beat vigorously until the mixture thickens and loses its gloss.
Pour into a greased pan.
When cold cut into squares.
