1/2 c Jelke's Good Luck margarine
1 1/4 c brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c boiling water
2 squares bitter chocolate
1 1/2 c pastry flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Cream margarine thoroughly; add sugar gradually and continue creaming.
Add eggs and beat well.
Pour boiling water over chocolate; stir over low heat until smooth and thick; cool and add to egg mixture.
Mix thoroughly, combine the milk and the vanilla, and add alternately with the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, beat until smooth after each addition.
Turn into two well greased layer pans.
Bake in a moderate oven (350º) until done 15 - 20 min
