Ingredients:  
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs
2 cups oatmeal, quick cooking
2 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup raisins
5 tbsp raisin water
1 tsp. basing soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar + shortening; add eggs. Mix. Sift together + Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon.
Add oatmeal raisins,raisin water,nuts and vanilla.

Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.

Bake @ 375 - 400 degrees F. for 10-15 minutes.

Dates may be substituted for raisins.

If a softer cookie is desired, use only 1 to 1 + 1/2 cups oatmeal.
