1 cup boiling water
1/2 pounds chopped dates
1 tsp soda
First part
Mix together and cool
1 cup sugar
1 tbs butter
1 egg
1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
Mix together and add to first
Topping.
1/2 pound chopped dates
1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cups boiling water. Cooked together and add 1/2 cups chopped dates.

Mix part one together and cool

Then mix part 2 with part one and bake 40-50minutes at 350 degrees

For topping cook together for about 15 min until thick then add nuts and spread on top of cake.
