Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. corn starch
1/2 c water
2/3 c corn syrup
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1 dram watermelon candy flavoring oil
food coloring of choice

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium sauce pan combine butter, corn starch, water, sugar, corn syrup, sea salt, dram of flavoring oil and food coloring. Apply as many drops of food coloring you want based on the color you would like.

Over medium heat stir together until butter is melted. Then put in your candy thermometer till it reaches a temperature of 250 degrees F.

Then put into a buttered dish to cool. Allow to cool till you are able to work it with your hands.

You will then work the taffy in your hands by pulling it apart and putting it back together. Till it goes from a transparent color to opaque. This usually takes about 15 minutes and then becomes difficult to pull apart at this point. Make sure that you are wearing gloves and that they are buttered, so it is easier to work and you don't get taffy all over your hands

Pull the taffy into a rope or desired shape and thickness. Cut into pieces with kitchen scissors. Make sure that the scissors are buttered, wrap in your favorite candy wrapper. Or you can use wax paper.

Personal Notes:
This is a tricky recipe. You do not want to rush the taffy as it is cooking. Do not mess with the temperature, it does take time to get to the degree you want you just have to be patient.
