1/2 c sugar
1 c molasses
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp soda in cup filled with hot water
2 1/2 c flour
Pinch salt
1 egg, well beaten

Bake in small dripping pan or large tin.
