2/3 c sugar
1/4 c flour
1/8 tsp salt
2 c milk ( canned milk works best)
3 egg yokes, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp butter
4 tbsp cocoa

2 deep dish pie crust


Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 Bake pie crust until lightly browned and pull out. Thoroughly mix sugar, flour, and salt in sausepan. Add milk and mix. Cook over direct heat, stirring contstantly until mixture thickens. Add a small amount of hot mixture to beaten egg yolks, stirring well. Return to remaining hot mixture in sausepan. Cook until mixture thickens. Add butter and vanilla, stir. Pour into cooked pie shell. Top with meringue.

this can also be used for coconut pie by adding 1/2 coconut to the mixture and to the top of the meringue.
