½ c sugar
½ c brown sugar
½ c shortening
½ c peanut butter
1 egg
1¼ c flour
¾ tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt

For double batch:
1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
1 c shortening
1 c peanut butter
2 eggs
2½ c flour
1½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugars, shortening, peanut butter and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Shape dough into balls. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Dip a fork in sugar and use fork to make criss-cross pattern on dough. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes.

Can also use Hershey Kisses on dough. Put unwrapped Kisses into dough immediately after coming out of the oven.
