1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups rolled oats or oatmeal
1 cup raisins, walnuts or chocolate chips optional

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt cinnamon and baking powder together and set aside. Cream shortening and sugar until
light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, milk and rolled oats. Slowly stir in the flour mixture. Stir in the rolled oats or
oat meal and mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet and
bake at 400 F for 12 - 15 minutes.
