Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 lb. ground pork (I buy lean ground pork)
1 lb. ground chuck
2 medium onions cut fine
2 tsp.cinnamon
2 tsp.cloves
salt and pepper to taste
2 medium potatoes per pie
6 pie crusts, top and bottom for 3 pies

Directions:
Directions:
Put meat in a large pan with 1½ cups of water. Let simmer for ½ hour from time it starts to simmer. Drain fat (keep in bowl for reserve). Leave half inch of liquid in pan. Add onions to the meat and cook on low for 1 hour to 1½ hours. Meanwhile cook potatoes, drain and mash by hand. Add seasonings to meat and let simmer 5 to 10 minutes more. Drain again if needed. Add potatoes and mix up good. It should be of a moist consistency, if not add some reserved fat drippings.

Make your piecrust and divide mixture into pies. Bake at 425º 35 to 45 minutes.

I make 3 9" pies out of this.

Personal Notes:
My father used to make our pork pies but never had a written recipe. When my oldest sister, Vi, married she made pies and finally got the pies to taste like our father's pies. She knew the ingredients but not the quantities.
