1c Ground Walnuts
2c Flour
1/2t Salt
1/2lb. Butter softened
1/2c Confectioner's Sugar for dough
2 c Confectioner's Sugar to roll cookies in
1t Vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 400 degrees F.

Combine nuts, flour, salt. Beat butter until soft. Add 1/2c sugar and beat until fluffy. Add vanilla. Add flour a little at a time beating until just combined.

Let dough rest 1/2 hour. Using hands shape dough into small balls or crescents. Place on parchment lined baking sheets about 1" apart. Bake about 10 minutes until golden.

Take the 2 left over cups of sugar and place in a pie pan. Roll cookies while still warm and transfer to a wire rack. Let cool. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

These were one of my mother's favorites. She saved more recipes of these cookies than almost any other. This one said it was a good one.
