1/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 lb bulk pork sausage
1 tsp salt
1 tsp rubbed sage
1/4 tsp rosemary, finely crushed
2 cups chicken broth
4 cups dried, cubed white bread [about 8 slices]
2 cups cooked chestnuts, coarsely chopped
2 eggs, beaten
1 T chopped parsley
1 T Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
Directions:
In large saucepan, melt butter. Add onions & garlic; sauté until tender but not brown; stirring frequently.
Add celery, sausage, salt, sage, rosemary & chicken broth. Heat to boiling; simmer for 10 minutes.
Place bread cubes & chestnuts in large bowl. Add sausage mixture; toss until well mixed. Add eggs, parsley & Worcestershire sauce & toss again. Spoon into 12x8 inch baking dish.
Bake in preheated 325º oven for 1 hour.

To cook chestnuts: Make an "X" in flat side of each nut; cover with water and boil 1 to 2 minutes. Peel off shells.
Simmer 10-15 minutes.
