1 ½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 ½ flour
1 tsp soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup Buttermilk
2 cups chopped rhubarb
2 tbsp sugar
½ tsp cinnamon

Heat oven to 350º.
Grease and flour 13x9-inch pan.
In large bowl, beat together sugar, brown sugar and butter. Add vanilla and egg, beat well.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Combine flour, soda and salt. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beating until well combined. Spoon ⅔ of batter in prepared pan, spreading evenly. Sprinkle with 2 cups rhubarb. Spoon remaining batter on top, spreading carefully. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon; sprinkle over batter
Bake at 350º for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool Completely.

4 tbsp water
¼ tsp cinnamon

In medium saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until rhubarb is tender.
Refrigerate sauce until cool. Serve over cake.
