6 pork chops (1 - 1 1/2 inches thick)
1 cup uncooked rice
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained but reserve liquid
hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Brown chops in oil; spread rice in bottom of 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Reserve 1 Tablespoon of seasoning from envelope of onion soup mix. Sprinkle remaining seasoning and bits of onion over rice. Drain mushrooms; reserve liquid. Distribute mushrooms over rice. Add hot water to reserved mushroom liquid to total 3 cups liquid and pour over rice. Arrange browned pork chops on top of rice mixture and sprinkle chops with reserved seasoning. Cover tightly with foil.

Bake at 350º until tender for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove foil and continue baking for 10 minutes or longer or until any excess liquid evaporates.
