1 package of raisins
1½ cups water
½ cup Crisco
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
2½ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp allspice
½ tsp ground cloves
½ cup chopped nuts(optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine raisins and water in a saucepan over medium/high heat. Boil for 5 minutes. Cool.
Mix Crisco, sugar, and eggs until smooth. Add raisin mixture.
Sift together, the remaining ingredients and add to wet mixture.

Bake 1½ hrs, 325º in a bundt or tube pan.
