cup sugar
cup brown sugar
cup shortening
cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
2 tsps. baking soda
tsp. salt
tsp. cinnamon
tsp. ginger
tsp. cloves
tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine sugars, shortening aing and molasses and blend well. Heat oven to 375F, Shape dough into balls and roll into sugar. Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are set. Cool 1-2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
