1 cup flour and 1 cup water (Or equal parts)

1 cup butter and 1 cup flour (Or equal parts)

(You can also substitute corn starch for the flour) This makes it more like a glaze

Directions:
Directions:
Equal parts of flour and water.
Mix water and flour in a bowl and add to soup to thicken, (make sure the liquid is boiling and stir constantly)
This is a Rue and acts as a thickening agent.
Option 2
Equal parts of butter and flour
Heat butter until bubbly. Add equal part of flour and mix until it makes a paste, add liquid (water or broth) and bring to a boil, add seasonings to make a gravy or soup
