Nutritional yeast (can be found in the bin section of any natural food store)
Extra firm tofu
Tamari (can substitute with soy sauce)

In a medium frying pan, throw in some olive oil and heat. Add the cubed tofu and sprinkle with nutritional yeast (as much as you like) and then immediately wet with tamari. Don’t cook for too long!

This is a quick and easy vegetarian staple. You can serve with stir fried veggies and rice, with couscous and tomatoes, plain or in a burrito! Tastes best when enjoyed with friends.

The Gockel girls were raised by a hunting and fishing obsessed father. When one of them went away to college and came back a vegetarian, rumor has it that Paul sighed under his breath… “Where did I fail with you?” This dish was one of the first recipes introduced to the family, who has since conceded that this is a lovely meat substitute!
