60ml butter
1 onion, chopped finely
2 garlic cloves
15ml ground coriander
1 cinnamon stick
5ml turmeric
5ml ground cumin
1ml cayenne pepper
250ml red lentils, rinsed and drained
1.5L chicken stock
30ml tomato paste
juice of 1 lemon

Directions:
Heat butter is a large saucepan, saute onion and garlic until soft. Add all the spices for 1 minute. Add the lentils, chicken stock and tomato paste. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minute until the lentil run soft. Add lemon juice and serve.
