1 4-pound beef brisket, trimmed of fat
Salt and pepper
1 large onion, sliced
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 12-ounce can beer (1 1/2 cups)
2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
Season beef with salt and pepper. Place in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.Cover with onion slices. Combine next four ingredients and pour over meat. Cover with foil. Bake in 350 degree oven for 3 1/2 hours. Uncover and bake for 30 more minutes, basting occasionally with juices. Skim fat from drippings. Measure liquid and add hot water to make 1 cup. Blend flour with 1/2 cup cold water. Stir into drippings and cook til bubbly, continually stirring. Pass with meat. Cut meat across grain.
