3 Cups flour
6 Tbsp Baking Powder
3/4 Tsp Cream of Tartar
3/4 Tsp Salt
3 Tsp Sugar
!/2 Cup Shortening
1 1/2 Cups milk or buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until well mixed. Add milk, stirring quickly until soft but not sticky. Turn out onto a floured board, roll the dough out to 3/4 inch thickness, Cut biscuits, place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 20 biscuits.
