Orange Dreamsicle Cake Recipe

CAKE
1 Duncan Hines Orange Supreme cake mix
2 small boxes orange Jello
1/2 cup vegetable oil1 1/2 cups milk
2 eggs

FROSTING
8 oz sour cream
8 oz Cool Whip
1/2 sup orange juice
1 tsp orange extract
orange zest

Directions:
Directions:
CAKE
1. Combine cake mix, Jello, milk, eggs and oil as directed on the box.
2. Divide into 2 prepared nine inch pans and bake as directed on the box.
3. Cool completely on wire rack.

FROSTING
1. Mix sugar and orange juice until sugar totally dissolves.
2. Add orange extract and mix.
3. Mix in sour cream.
4. Fold in Cool Whip. Mixture should be thick.
5. Cut each nine inch cake round in half horizontally.
6. Spread frosting on top of each cake round and stack them, making 4 layers.
7. Spread frosting on stacked cake sides,
Sprinkle cake top with orange zest, if desired.

I've always felt if frosting is good, MORE frosting is better. Try doubling the frosting and spread it on thick!!
