Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 egg white
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Place sugar, cream of tartar, salt, water, and egg white in the top of a double boiler. Beat with a handheld electric mixer for 1 minute. Place pan over another pot full of boiling water, being sure that boiling water does not touch the bottom of the top pan. (If this happens, it could cause your frosting to become grainy). Beat constantly on high speed with electric mixer for 7 minutes. The 7 minutes over the heat of the boiling water helps to cook the egg white so frosting doesn't separate when it is done so don't skimp on this. Remove from heat. Beat in vanilla.

This is a delicious marshmallow-y frosting...one of Dad's favorites on a chocolate cake.
